Visit the Şanlıurfa Archaeology Museum, which houses an unmissable collection of archaeological artifacts dating from the Neolithic period to the Crusader Edessa era, including many artifacts from Göbekli Tepe, such as the 'Urfa Man,' considered the world's oldest statue.
The museum also features a replica of the D wall of Göbekli Tepe and the cult area known as Nevali Cori, which was submerged by the Atatürk Dam and moved to this museum along with its original stones.
The Haleplibahçe Mosaic Museum is a reconstruction of beautiful mosaics from the 3rd and 4th centuries, found on the site of an ancient Roman villa. The museum is also famous for the Orpheus Mosaic, which was illegally smuggled out of the country and returned to its hometown of Şanlıurfa in 2015. Many mosaics unearthed around Şanlıurfa are also exhibited in this museum.
Newly excavated tombs at the Kızılkoyun Necropolis have been dated to between the 2nd and 4th centuries AD. More than 61 tombs were carved into the bedrock limestone.
You will visit the Cave of Abraham, the birthplace of Prophet Abraham, and the Pool of Abraham, believed to be the place where Prophet Abraham was thrown into the fire by Nimrod.
You should definitely see Urfa's bustling bazaar. Here you'll find stalls selling everything from sheepskin jeans to colorful local scarves. You can also see some old workshops and artisans that you won't find anywhere else.
